Requirements:
- Screwdrivers
- Anti-static Wrist Strap also known as ground strap
- Computer parts (Computer case, Hard drive, CD / DVD drive, MotherBoard, RAM, Processor, Power Supply, Chassis fan and processor fan).
- Space where you can assembly the parts.
Basic Things to know:
- Make sure all the parts that you ordered are compatible with each other, for example; if you have a ATX computer case then you must have ATX size Motherboard, Power supply that can provide enough power to all the components and have enough power connectors. RAM type, Processor and video card, must match the slots on motherboard.
- Some components are Electro-Static Sensitive, thats why before touching them you should ground yourself, using the Anti-static Wrist Strap.
- Install the Power Supply first, so that you don't have any problem installing the motherboard.
- Attach the motherboard securing screws on the case
3. Install the processor in the Processor slot of the motherboard, apply the thermal paste at the bottom of the heat sink of the processor fan and but it on the top of the processor and use the heat sink lock to secure the Processor fan. Align the motherboard screw holes with the securing screw and use the second type of screws showed in the pictures above to fix the motherboard at one place.
4. Align the motherboard screw holes with the securing screw and use the second type of screws showed in the pictures above to fix the motherboard at one place.
5. Install the DVD in the 5.35 inch bays and Hard drives in 3.5 inch bays use the screws to secures the drive.
6. Use the wires coming from the front panel of the computer case read the label on it and on the
motherboard to plug the wire into the right pins. Use the motherboard manual for the pin
configuration information.
7. Use the SATA cable or Parallel wire ribbon to connect the Hard drives and DVD Drive (Types of wires are depend on the hard drive type).
8. Plug the motherboard power wire from the power supply to the motherboard (usually 20 to 24 pins wires).
9. Many motherboards have a extra 12V 4 pin connection port, some have 8 pin connection. make sure you check the motherboard manual for more information.
10. When All the power connection and cables from motherboard and the other components are
connected check one more time just to make sure they are connected properly and then use wire ties to tie the wire to organize then for better air flow inside the case.
11. After all these steps close the case and connect the monitor mouse keyboard to you cpu. Its time to install the operation System. you can buy the operation system or use the open source operation systems like Linux. If you want to install Linux then download from there website and then burn on the CD/DVD disk or create a Bootable.
12. After your USB of CD/DVD is created insert it in to the PC and Power the PC. most of the PC
recognize the OS CD/DVD or USB but some will require to press Del key multiple times to go to the boot menu. Select the drive that has the OS and then press enter and then start to follow the instructions from the screen to install the Operating system Its as similar as installing a software.
Hope These steps are useful I will be adding more pictures to make it more helpful.
